There is a lot of textual critique of patriarchy and critique of capitalism and critique of Mattel. But, you know, like Bedatri, I feel conflicted about everything it's trying to say. I think Margot Robbie is surprisingly poignant in this movie, which you kind of will understand better, I think, once you've seen it. And that for me as a culture journalist and film critic is the most horrific question because if it's camp and you don't get it, that's, like, the worst thing. But it's still, like - it doesn't sit very well, but in a very fun way. What did you think of "Barbie"?īEDATRI D CHOUDHURY: Oof.
